About the Ecochallenge

Santa Barbara County residents can participate in a worldwide Earth Month EcoChallenge this April 1-30, 2020 with suggested actions toward improved health, community resiliency, and environmental impact.

Given the current social distancing recommendations due to COVID-19, some of our resiliency actions include tips for mental and physical wellbeing, supporting local businesses, and living in harmony during this challenging time.>/p>

The challenge is also geared toward protecting our planet, with tips for food waste reduction, elimination of single-use plastics, smart transportation solutions, and water conservation. Actions are tracked through a mobile-friendly platform by Ecochallenge.org and team Santa Barbara is sponsored by the local sustainablefuture.org.

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the birth of the environmental movement and the creation of "Earth Day" after the disastrous oil spill hit our shores in 1969.

The year 2020 also sets the precedent for the progress that can take hold when millions of people come together to take action for a healthier world.

Join us in this global movement!

We believe small actions can make a big impact.
