What is your big takeaway from an event that you attended?

I attended several events focused on at-home recycling, composting, and gardening. My goal was to learn what more I could in my own backyard, and the answer is a lot! Taking regular yard waste and food scraps to make a compost pile will not only reduce how much we're putting in the bins, but it will also support the garden we're planting to grow vegetables and support pollinators.

Pollinators of all types--not just bees--are necessary to food production. It's also nice to have a bright and lively garden!
