Teresa Broadus 4/28/2020 8:49 AMI can think of making sure I take reusable water bottles on my hikes instead of using plastic bottled water. If I do occasionally use plastic water bottles I will recycle them as they do not compost in the short term. -

The Story of Food Waste video and did not realize the amount of $$ spent throwing food away due to "expiration" dates - that are manufacturing company dates and very confusing and misunderstood. I would love to be able to support a store like Daily Table - where imperfect food is sold at a reasonable cost. So much imperfect looking food is just thrown away.-
Louisa Lubiak 4/24/2020 6:33 PMHi Teresa! I like to "adopt" items past their best-by date at my local health food store. I've used old shelf-stable cartons of Veggemo "veggie milk" and cans of pumpkin pie filling with no ill effect. Even refrigerated bottles of Kombucha a month past their prime were fine. I think a grocery store would've just chucked 'em all out!

Teresa Broadus 4/24/2020 11:51 AMI listened to the podcast on "Beeing" and learned about how our bee population is diminishing very quickly. They are responsible for a high level of food production. Hopefully, our beekeepers will be able to grow the profession and share more of their knowledge in order to keep our pollinators healthy and growing in numers. -

Flossie Erben 4/23/2020 12:57 PMMe too!! The new recycle trucks tend to "shed" and have more things fall out then the older ones did. :( So, we spend a lot of time on our walks picking up plastic and paper.

Teresa Broadus 4/15/2020 10:55 PMour choices of what we eat, what we clean with, what we use on our skin, etc. can affect freshwater -- some foods require more water - like meat; some cleaners can be harmful and can make water contaminated. I found a great EWG resource and will use it before buying products I use on my skin in the future. -
