Oceans

Say No to Plastic Straws

An estimated 71% of seabirds and 30% of turtles have been found with plastics in their stomachs. When marine wildlife ingest plastic, they have a 50% mortality rate. By asking for no straw when placing a drink order, I will keep 1 plastic straw(s) of out of the ocean each day.

You can learn more about your community and about nature through spending more time outside. You get to go explore places that you never even knew existed, such as bike trails, woods, ponds, etc.

I regularly use straws and plastic bags from grocery stores. I have bee starting to use metal reusable straws, and when I go pick up groceries for my family, I keep reusable cloth bags in my trunk.

While being away from others, it is important to still build friendships and connect with people. Some might be feeling lonely so calling and checking in on a friend could help them.
