I saw that we should encourage local farming and community gardens to empower people to make their own food choices!
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

I leaned about chimpanzees by watching the National Geographic movie about Jane Goodall. I learned how similar they are to humans. I love how family oriented they are.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Oceans Say No to Plastic Straws
What single-use items (e.g. straws, coffee cups, vegetable bags, plastic bags) do you regularly use? What could be substituted instead?

    Sarah Dar's avatar
    Sarah Dar 4/13/2020 7:33 AM
I use tea bags that are single use. These can be replaced with a metal tea ball!
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Oceans Learn about Our Oceans
What is one way in which oceans support your life on Earth? What is one way you can help take care of ocean health with your actions?

    Sarah Dar's avatar
    Sarah Dar 4/13/2020 7:32 AM
The ocean regulates our climate, absorbs carbon dioxide, holds 97% of Earth's water, and supports the greatest abundance of life on our planet. We can take care of the ocean by voting for candidates who take environmental issues seriously.

I am learning about trees this week, by reading "The Hidden Life of Trees." Not only do they sequester carbon, but they sustain ecosystems!
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Forests Choose Better Wood Products
Beyond carbon sequestration, what other benefits do forests offer you personally?

    Sarah Dar's avatar
    Sarah Dar 4/10/2020 7:50 AM
They sustain entire ecosystems, without trees, entire species would collapse.
