Emmy Engasser 4/30/2020 12:51 PMHow is it the last day of this already?! -
Emmy Engasser 4/28/2020 12:21 PMI can't believe April is almost over! It has been really interesting to join this challenge. I hope that I can continue to do my part in conservation and contributing to a sustainable and eco-friendly lifestyle. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONForests Explore My AreaHow can spending more time outdoors enhance your sense of place?
Emmy Engasser 4/21/2020 11:39 AMFor me, it reminds me that there is always more to discover. It helps me connect with the earth through my senses (smell, see, touch) and appreciate the desert so much more. Outdoors time is very important to me because it helps me unwind and recharge from the draining aspects of life. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Building Resilience Spend Time OutsideRachel Carson said that we need the beauty and mysteries of the natural world for our spiritual and emotional development. Does that ring true for you? What are the implications for a culture that spends most of its time indoors?
Emmy Engasser 4/17/2020 10:23 AMThis definitely rings true for me! I need to have time outside in nature in order to feel "reset." I'm afraid that the value put on the natural world is fading and the younger generations do not know how important it is. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFresh Water Conserve Toilet WaterWhat would a sustainable water future in your region look like? What needs to change?
Emmy Engasser 4/13/2020 1:24 PMIf people xeriscaped more often in Arizona, we would have a lot more water conservation. In the desert, it is so important to conserve water. There should be stricter enforcement on broken sprinklers/desert friendly plants.
