  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Wildlife Use Reusable Bags
What do you do if you find yourself in the situation of needing a bag for items but don't have a reusable one with you? Carry things out in your hands? In a cart? Accept a disposable one? If you find yourself in this position often, what system could you put in place to try to create a successful habit of not using plastic bags?

I keep bags in my classroom, my car, my kitchen, and my backpack.  If I do not have a bag I will often choose to forgo the trip or only buy what I need for that day so I don't need a bag.

    People Connect While Social Distancing
How does connecting with others help your own mental and emotional health? How can it help support others?

  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food Weekly Meal Planning
An average American throws out about 240 lbs of food per year. The average family of four spends $1,500 a year on food that they throw out. Does this surprise you? Where would you rather use this money?

After doing research the food wastes does not surprise me, saddens yes, but not surprising.  I'd much rather use my money for travel.

  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Fresh Water Use a Reusable Water Bottle
Using the links provided, investigate the bottling practices of water corporations. There have been many cases where the water rights of the local people have been violated or even completely disregarded when a corporation decides to bottle water from a particular water source. How can you advocate for those who have been harmed - both humans and wildlife - by this bottling process?

I can help advocate for humans and wildlife by using reusable bottles to reduce the number of one-time-use bottles which can help decrease the plastics that photodegrade versus biodegrade.
