Bobby's actions
Action Track: Earth Day Together!
Earth Day Action: Write a Love Letter, Poem, or Song to Earth
I will express my love and gratitude for our Earth by writing a love letter, poem, or song to Earth.
Action Track: Building Resilience
Support you local Small Business
Continue to support your local small business during the month of April and share in the social feed of how you powered prosperity.
Food
Learn the Truth About Expiration Dates
I will spend at least 10 minutes learning how to differentiate between sell by, use by, and best by dates.
Action Track: Building Resilience
Research Benefits of Biodiversity
I will spend at least 10 minutes researching how biodiversity positively impacts our world and how the loss of biodiversity harms it.
Action Track: Building Resilience
Support Pollinators
At least 30% of crops and 90% of flowering plants rely on pollinators, including monarch butterflies, to produce fruit. I will spend 10 minutes researching which plants support local native pollinators and plant some in my yard.
Oceans
Smart Seafood Choices
I will visit seafoodwatch.org or download the app and commit to making better seafood choices for a healthier ocean.
Wildlife
Research a Wild Animal
I will spend at least 10 minutes learning about a wild animal I find interesting, including their life cycle, habitat, ecosystem functions, and interactions with humans (if any!).
People
Create Homemade Face Covering to Help Prevent the Spread of Coronavirus
The CDC now recommends wearing a cloth face covering (such as a homemade mask or scarf) when you’re in public places where it’s difficult to maintain social distancing. These are places where there are usually more people — for example, at pharmacies and grocery stores. Now's your time to get creative while also doing social good and supporting public health. Breathable fabric like cotton, silk, or linen is recommended. Repurpose an old T-shirt, bandana, pillowcase, handkerchief, or scarf. You can sew the fabric into a mask, tie it around your face, or fold it and use hair ties for ear loops. Share your final product on your favorite social channels to inspire friends and family to do the same.
Food
Pantry Scavenger Hunt
If necessity is the mother of invention, but you're at a loss for what to make for lunch or dinner, fall back on three core Intuit values: Be Bold, Be Passionate, and Deliver Awesome. Gather up ingredients you already have on hand, and get creative! If possible, try focusing on a dish composed of vegetable or grain-forward ingredients.
Climate
Choose Renewable Energy or Purchase Renewable Energy Credits
I will sign up for my utility company's clean/renewable energy option. If my utility does not offer one, I will purchase Renewable Energy Credits to match my usage.
Action Track: Building Resilience
Connect While Social Distancing
I will connect with at least 5 person/people a day through phone call or video chat to support mine and other’s mental and emotional health during this challenging time.
Food
Reduce Animal Products
I will enjoy 3 meatless meal(s) and/or 3 vegan meal(s) each day of the challenge.
Fresh Water
Use a Reusable Water Bottle
I will use a reusable bottle and stop purchasing bottled water, saving 5 disposable plastic bottle(s) a day.
Forests
Explore My Area
I will explore at least one new hiking trail or nature walk in my area while following CDC guidelines for social distancing.
Forests
Use a Reusable Mug
If possible, I will avoid sending 4 disposable cup(s) to the landfill each day by using a reusable mug.
Participant Feed
Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.
To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?

REFLECTION QUESTIONClimate Choose Renewable Energy or Purchase Renewable Energy CreditsYour utility company is able to tell you your average energy usage. Ask them how your energy usage compares to others in your ZIP code, region, and/or state. What other steps can you take each day to reduce your electricity usage?
Bobby Javanshir 4/29/2020 9:29 AMWe reduce user overall by using natural light, running appliances when they are rull (laundry, Dishwasher) -
REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Earth Day Together! Earth Day Action: Write a Love Letter, Poem, or Song to EarthWhat are you grateful for about our planet? Share what you created or your general thoughts of love and gratitude with everyone else!
Bobby Javanshir 4/29/2020 9:28 AMI'm so grateful for our planets resiliency. Humans have caused damage, and with reeducation and major adjustments, we can help the planet heal. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Building Resilience Research Benefits of BiodiversityHow can you encourage biodiversity by your own actions?
-
REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Building Resilience Support PollinatorsWhy is it important to take care of pollinators?
Bobby Javanshir 4/29/2020 9:27 AMPollinators support the broader ecosystem, without pollinators, plants do not pollenate and produce, animals don't eat what's produced and spread the seeds to other areas, and the ecosystem suffers! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Reduce Animal ProductsWhy do people in richer countries eat more meat than people in other places? How does eating more meat affect our planet and other people?
