Louisa Lubiak 4/25/2020 7:48 PMToday I "trespassed" onto a neighbor's front yard to pick-up some trash I've been seeing there for the past month. What I found was the remains of a broken-up styrofoam cooler box. The pieces appeared to have been stuck in the bushes for a long time, as the pieces were very crumbly when I picked them up. I didn't tally-up the individual pieces I collected but counted them all as one item. -
Louisa Lubiak 4/24/2020 6:50 PMToday our NJ Watershed Ambassadors held their educational Earth Day "Take Our Kids To Work Day" activities virtually. There was a water cycle lesson & game, an Enviroscape watershed demonstration, a nature-based yoga class, a presentation on pollinators & Jersey-friendly yards, and a benthic macroinvertebrate identification activity. Hey...I even managed to get some work done between sessions! ;-) -

Louisa Lubiak 4/22/2020 6:48 PMToday was a garbage collection day & there were more bits of broken bottles in the street than I had ever seen before. I didn't total-up all the little pieces of broken glass I picked up on my neighborhood litter walk today. -
Louisa Lubiak 4/21/2020 7:18 PMNew Jersey Governor Phil Murphy has recognized and applauded the hard work and dedication of every NJDEP employee in a proclamation declaring April 22 as Earth Day in New Jersey – a perfect gift to celebrate the NJDEP’s 50th birthday. In closing, the proclamation encourages all New Jerseyans “to celebrate this special day by renewing their commitment to doing all they can every day to protect the quality of our environment for fellow residents and for future generations.”
