Volunteering is my time to do something I am not expected.  It is my way of connecting with my community and to support needs.  We are blessed to have the things we may have.  Time is a valuable asset and if we have this to give to promote healthy relationships or communities, then I'm up for it.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Action Track: Building Resilience Use Muscle Power
How do your transportation choices affect your engagement in your community? Does your experience or enjoyment differ while walking, riding transit, biking or driving?

As imperative as it is to drive to work, I enjoy that time knowing that it's that decision that I make that supports the well-being of many around me.  The team depends on me, my company depends on me.  Outside of driving, I believe it is imperative to  balance options.  Riding as a passenger provides a unique fulfillment and so does riding a bike or even walking. Each one comes with it's own unique experience and enjoyment.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Action Track: Building Resilience Spend Time Outside
Rachel Carson said that we need the beauty and mysteries of the natural world for our spiritual and emotional development. Does that ring true for you? What are the implications for a culture that spends most of its time indoors?

I would agree.  It's important to understand your world from inside as well.  Your thoughts and emotions can be critical to reflect on during your time indoors.  You can learn so much about yourself and what values you bring to yourself and your society.

How does connecting with others help your own mental and emotional health? How can it help support others?

It helps me remain calm and understand that I am feeling like many,  It helps to know that many are in your shoes.  Sharing ideas on at home activities has been great.
