Spent some time with the kiddos on at the Hudson River Recreation Area north of Lake Luzerne. We were excited to see a river otter swimming near the bank of the river. If you haven't been to the Wild Center in Tupper Lake there's a great River Otter display. When we get to the day that they open up again, I highly recommend it.

I love this, how exciting to be able to enjoy the weather and see an otter. I haven't been to the Wild Center yet, but it is on my list of places to go.

    Food Compost Food Waste
New to composting? Be sure to check out the action resource links to learn tips and more about it. As you transition from throwing food away to composting, what do you notice about how much you are tossing? How will you use your compost once it is ready?

Finally, got around to doing some home composting thanks to this competition. So many good reasons to do it, but excited to use it as a tool to help the kids understand natural cycles (although I'm not so sure he's as excited as I am).

I was so happy to get out on the bike with my daughter Nora. She will be two this month and is great to have as a companion on my bike rides (except when she tries to grab the handle bar and steer us off the road!)

Action Track: Building Resilience Connect While Social Distancing
How does connecting with others help your own mental and emotional health? How can it help support others?

Sometimes I can get stuck in my own thoughts. Occasionally those thoughts are unproductive. Connecting with family and friends helps me be present, and step outside myself in a way that gives me new perspective. I am truly grateful for the friendships I have and this is a great reminder of that.
