This challenge has been so different for me compared to last year!  I chose challenges that were topics I wanted to learn more about and I'm so glad I did.  My eyes have been opened wider to all of the ways I can contribute to a healthier planet by making small, simple adjustments to many aspects of my daily life!  :)

Food sovereignty transitions to modern food systems in many ways, one by making food access/security through prioritizing local agricultural production and also protecting local markets.

I joined the challenge so I could learn more.  I chose the challenges that I did either to learn more about areas I'm unfamiliar with and/or to do things I know are good or I that I know feel good!

    Oceans Smart Seafood Choices
Many states and countries have advisories on eating fish. Find out what is advised for your region. Do you think your diet choices fall within these guidelines? What steps do you need to take to make sure that they do?

Although I don't eat much fish, I was surprised to learn so much about sustainable seafood in just 15 minutes!!  I was also surprised to discover the State of Nebraska website outlining suggested consumption of fish caught from specific waterbodies in our state.  Since I don't eat much fish, I'm not sure if my choices fall within the guidelines but I will consider before purchasing fish in the future.
