REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Weekly Meal PlanningAn average American throws out about 240 lbs of food per year. The average family of four spends $1,500 a year on food that they throw out. Does this surprise you? Where would you rather use this money?
Noni Strand 4/29/2020 2:13 PMWe are really working to reduce our food waste. Planning for at least a week at a time with the covid crisis has helped us be more mindful about what we are buying. We are less likely to run out and "grab a bite to eat" at a restaurant. I want to eat more local food, too. It doesn't surprise me that so much food is wasted. Maybe COVID will help us with this. -
Noni Strand 4/25/2020 8:08 AMI was able to make a video for Earth Day for my colleagues at work. I took it in my garden and showed them how my lettuce, spinach, and peas had sustained through the freezes we've had lately. I used that as a metaphor for how we can sustain through COVID challenges.
