Caroline's actions
Food
Reduce Animal Products
I will enjoy 2 meatless meal(s) and/or 1 vegan meal(s) each day of the challenge.
Oceans
Beach Clean up
Clean up the beaches surrounding my home, picking up large pieces of styrofoam, buoy, and other plastics. Take a picture of the amount of trash collected every week to see just how much waste is littering the homes of so many organisms.
Oceans
Learn about Our Oceans
I will spend at least 30 minutes learning about how our oceans support life on Earth by producing oxygen, regulating climate, and providing habitat, food, and jobs.
Oceans
Join a Cleanup Effort
I will host or participate in a trash pickup at a local river or beach that follows the CDC’s current guidelines for prevention of disease transfer.
Action Track: Building Resilience
Spend Time Outside
I will replace 60 minute(s) each day typically spent inside (computer time, watching television, etc.) with quality time outside that follows CDC guidelines for preventing disease spread.
People
Keep My Community Clean
I will pick up 100 piece(s) of litter each day while following the CDC’s current guidelines for prevention of disease transfer.

REFLECTION QUESTIONPeople Keep My Community CleanHow does the act of picking up litter connect you more to your community?
Caroline Toldo 4/06/2020 1:29 PMPicking up trash on the beaches that surround my home makes me feel connected to my friends and family as well as the other organisms that make up my community. Picking up one piece of trash could prevent it from getting into the stomach of an animal who may die or pass those microplastics onto another.
