I found eating within 100 miles was relatively easy once I was able to get produce from the preorder Farmer's Market.  I had to be fast to get my orders in quickly after each farm opened its online store to get produce for the week.  I alternated between farms each week.  I'm still eating the produce, so will be good on veggies for at least...

It was very easy to cut my car driving mileage.  The only time I drove was to pick up groceries or to drive the car so the batteries and tires would not go bad.  I walked or carpooled the rest of the time.  I sure saved a lot of money on gas.  Hopefully the air quality is better also.

Although I did not finish my native plantings, I have a plan.  It will definitely take more than 1 month to complete.  I am still working on limiting my plastic consumption from the last Eco Challenge.  Except for ordering things on-line, I am doing very well limiting the plastics that are coming into my house.

A work friend gave me this environmental friendly tip.  I bring my own hand towel and napkin to work instead of using paper towels.  It actually was quite hard to break the paper towel habit.  I would find I would have my own towel and still reach for the paper towels. At home I use rags for everything.  I cut up any cotton item that needs to...

In these unique times, I imagine we are all trying different foods and recipes, since life is anything but routine. This has helped make making food changes both easier and harder.

We've been able to share greens from our garden with our neighbors. The lettuce is loving all this beautiful weather.

I'm very happy with my farmer's market produce.  The salad greens are amazing!  I've ordered produce for the next two weeks from two different farms.  I'm very grateful that there is still a market for me to walk to on Sunday mornings.  Social distancing is easy.  They place the produce box onto the parking lot.   I'm able to pack it in my...

Trying to decide where to buy native plants and where to put them.  I think I have decided to put the first ones near my mailbox.  First I need to remove the grass in the area.  I will work on that today.

I'm finally able to eat all of my daily food grown and produced within 100 miles of my home.  This is due to my Farmer's Market pickup of produce yesterday!
