We're in the final hours of the Earth Day EcoChallenge!
Let's finish strong and keep logging our actions. You can log your actions until 11:59 PM tonight. Don't forget, you can also log your actions retroactively four days back, not including the current day. So make sure you're logging all your actions.

  • Reflection Question
    Oceans Smart Seafood Choices
Many states and countries have advisories on eating fish. Find out what is advised for your region. Do you think your diet choices fall within these guidelines? What steps do you need to take to make sure that they do?

    Maria Albulescu 4/28/2020 6:09 PM
The State Consumer Guides on Seafood Watch website are great! It provides recommendations on which seafood items are "Best Choices" or "Good Alternatives," and which ones to "Avoid". They also offer a wide selection of sustainable, ocean-friendly seafood recipes.

I used to stop at the grocery store twice a week on my way home from work. Now I go to the store once every 2.5-3 weeks and I want to keep doing this moving forward.
COVID-19 lockdown made me realize how much I can save by not buying coffee at the coffee shops, cooking at home, driving less, less laundry, no dry cleaning...

Only 4 days left in the EcoChallenge! So much momentum has been created. Let's finish strong!
Keep logging your actions and sharing reflections. You can also log your actions retroactively going back four days.
Your posts to the Participant Feed are incredibly motivating, and without knowing it, you're inspiring EcoChallengers across the globe. Thanks for sharing!

    People Volunteer in my Community
How does volunteering enhance your community and/or change your relationship with it?

    Maria Albulescu 4/26/2020 3:31 PM
Now more than ever we need to show that we care for each other and that we are in this together.
It is inspiring to see people helping each other and showing so much kindness.

Action Track: Earth Day Together! Earth Day Action: Share Eco Tips
What environmentally friendly habit have you most recently implemented? How do you ensure that you are successful in creating or changing a habit?

    Maria Albulescu 4/23/2020 6:29 PM
Zero waste. I cook at home and I don’t waste any food.
  • Reflection Question
Action Track: Earth Day Together! Earth Day Action: Research and Support Local Organizations
Why is it important to support local organizations and businesses? How does it help to build a more resilient community?

    Maria Albulescu 4/21/2020 7:31 PM
Buying local has benefits beyond mere convenience. When you support local business owners, you get a better level of service, as well as helping make your community a better place to live. This is in addition to the health benefits and access to unique products that you usually can’t find with chain locations.
    • Improve the local economy.
    • Know the people behind the product.
    • More personalized service.
    • Have a unique community.
Today I bought an ice cream cake from my favorite local ice cream place using curbside pickup. It was great seeing the owner so happy to serve his customers even outside the store.
