REFLECTION QUESTIONOceans Smart Seafood ChoicesMany states and countries have advisories on eating fish. Find out what is advised for your region. Do you think your diet choices fall within these guidelines? What steps do you need to take to make sure that they do?
MARIA ALBULESCU 4/28/2020 6:09 PMThe State Consumer Guides on Seafood Watch website are great! It provides recommendations on which seafood items are "Best Choices" or "Good Alternatives," and which ones to "Avoid". They also offer a wide selection of sustainable, ocean-friendly seafood recipes. -
MARIA ALBULESCU 4/28/2020 4:12 PMI used to stop at the grocery store twice a week on my way home from work. Now I go to the store once every 2.5-3 weeks and I want to keep doing this moving forward.
COVID-19 lockdown made me realize how much I can save by not buying coffee at the coffee shops, cooking at home, driving less, less laundry, no dry cleaning... -

REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Earth Day Together! Earth Day Action: Research and Support Local OrganizationsWhy is it important to support local organizations and businesses? How does it help to build a more resilient community?
MARIA ALBULESCU 4/21/2020 7:31 PMBuying local has benefits beyond mere convenience. When you support local business owners, you get a better level of service, as well as helping make your community a better place to live. This is in addition to the health benefits and access to unique products that you usually can’t find with chain locations.- Improve the local economy.
- Know the people behind the product.
- More personalized service.
- Have a unique community.
Today I bought an ice cream cake from my favorite local ice cream place using curbside pickup. It was great seeing the owner so happy to serve his customers even outside the store.
