Maria Aristeo 4/30/2020 10:01 AMThis activity was so rewarding. I loved seeing positive posts from my teammates, especially during this weird time, it was soo needed. -
Maria Aristeo 4/29/2020 5:35 PMCompleting these daily challenges really made have a different perspective in my actions. I'm more conscious about the waste I produce and how to minimize it. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFresh Water Use a Reusable Water BottleUsing the links provided, investigate the bottling practices of water corporations. There have been many cases where the water rights of the local people have been violated or even completely disregarded when a corporation decides to bottle water from a particular water source. How can you advocate for those who have been harmed - both humans and wildlife - by this bottling process?
Maria Aristeo 4/27/2020 12:16 PMThere are many actions we can take to make a difference and express our views. They don't always have to be grand to make a statement. We can start small such as by promising never to purchase bottled water again. To stay true to this promise, we could stay proactive by leaving a glass or metal water container in your car for easy access, and one in your backpack. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Reduce Animal ProductsWhy do people in richer countries eat more meat than people in other places? How does eating more meat affect our planet and other people?
Maria Aristeo 4/23/2020 8:09 PMPeople in richer countries have more access to meat products. We have the ease of being able to walk into a grocery store and have multiple meat options. People in developing countries work to provide us with all these options, yet it's unfair that they don't have the same opportunities as us. Also, this need for a high variety of meat products, depletes our natural resources. The constant demand is taxing for our planet and species. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONPeople Keep My Community CleanHow does the act of picking up litter connect you more to your community?
Maria Aristeo 4/22/2020 8:01 PMI feel a sense of responsibility by actively helping my community stay clean. The added sense of responsibility makes me feel more connected to my community. I also feel proud knowing I am making an effort to keep our ecosystems safe. Although minimal, it's still important to make some sort of effort.-
Mikkaela Palmer 4/29/2020 7:11 AMI agree, i like seeing people actively care for our enviorment. I like to always remember that giving tree will stop giving if we dont give! (:

REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Building Resilience Spend Time OutsideRachel Carson said that we need the beauty and mysteries of the natural world for our spiritual and emotional development. Does that ring true for you? What are the implications for a culture that spends most of its time indoors?
Maria Aristeo 4/20/2020 1:49 PMCarson's remark rings true for me in a spiritual religious manner. Seeing the tangible beauty of the world reinforces my faith. It also fuels my creativity. A culture that lacks an initiative to explore outdoors, lacks curiosity and lags in innovation. -
