Energy savings for the home office

Now that we're all working from home, energy bills could go up. Take some time to evaluate your home office space (even if it's the kitchen table!). Many utilities offer home efficiency kits (LED bulbs, shower heads, etc.) - visit your electric utilities website to see if they offer any of these solutions. The links below will also help you find energy efficiency opportunities in your own space.

My Carbon Footprint

Use an online tool (links below) to calculate my carbon footprint and see what changes would make the most difference. Each calculator varies, but you'll typically need to gather: utility records, the flight history for the last year, and annual mileage and fuel efficiency of your vehicles.

Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.

To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?

  • REFLECTION QUESTION

I went for a walk in the local nature preserve with my wife yesterday and picked up trash left by others. Very sad people feel its ok to throw down food containers and bottles when there are waste receptacles available.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

I bought a Bee hive that mounts on a wall or fence at Lowes for less than 10 dollars. Without bees our food from gardens and fields will wither away. Support the Bees and Butterflies.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

Humans need to interact with others. Especially family and team members at work. Seems to help depression while we are social distancing. I checked on a team member and a family member today. They seemed to be happier after we talked only a few minutes.
