Selina's actions
Action Track: Building Resilience
Connect While Social Distancing
I will connect with at least 5 person/people a day through phone call or video chat to support mine and other’s mental and emotional health during this challenging time.
Action Track: Building Resilience
Get Involved in the Water Justice Movement
I will spend at least 15 minutes a day using the resources provided to learn about water justice and find out how I can get involved in local initiatives.
Action Track: Building Resilience
Use Muscle Power
I will cut my car trip mileage by only taking necessary trips, and I will only use muscle-powered transportation for all other trips.
Action Track: Building Resilience
Volunteer in my Community
I will volunteer 5 hour(s) in my community helping people who are most at need right now, including elderly and immunocompromised people, people without childcare, and people whose jobs have been affected by social distancing measures.
Action Track: Building Resilience
Spend Time Outside
I will replace 5 minute(s) each day typically spent inside (computer time, watching television, etc.) with quality time outside that follows CDC guidelines for preventing disease spread.
Action Track: Building Resilience
Support Pollinators
At least 30% of crops and 90% of flowering plants rely on pollinators, including monarch butterflies, to produce fruit. I will spend 60 minutes researching which plants support local native pollinators and plant some in my yard.
Climate
Publish Public Transportation information on my personal and professional Facebook pages.
I am an outreach specialist with a public transportation agency. Since all of our events are canceled, I am looking for ways to continue to educate our community about the benefits of public transportation. For now, we are only encouraging essential trips, but we hope the future will be filled buses for our system!
Participant Feed
Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.
To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?

Selina Danko 4/03/2020 6:12 PMEarly morning wakeup call to get my outdoor time in! Lots of little mice on the trail, one skunk, one partial skunk and no people sightings.-
Jeanne Poirier 4/03/2020 8:41 PMThere seems to be lots more skunks around! It's my wild animal study for eco-challenge. May you never have too close an encounter! Good on you to get out there in the cold and do it anyway!!

Selina Danko 4/02/2020 5:03 PMThis is not photoshopped! The flowers in the Foothills are just getting started, but the balsamroot is a showy start to spring. Was able to get in about 5 solo miles this morning on the trails. Only my dog and a couple of coyotes to keep me company.-
Sue Kane 4/09/2020 9:57 PMThey are even happier than my daffodils!

Selina Danko 4/01/2020 4:21 PMEnjoying the outdoors. In my backyard. -
Selina Danko 4/01/2020 4:20 PMI am an outdoorsy person, so spending time outside is not a problem for me. With current events shrinking my world, I am learning to appreciate the beauty right out my back door. There are some amazing things happening in my own yard. Tulips and violets are blooming. Blueberries, raspberries and blackberries are budding.-
Jeanne Poirier 4/01/2020 6:56 PMLOVE pink tulips! Great with the pink steps. :)

Selina Danko 3/30/2020 11:57 AMI didn't take a photo this morning on my run through the Foothills, but will try to make it a regular habit. The bluebells, yellow bells, phlox and buttercups are in full emergence. Saw a rainbow this morning before getting caught in a rain squall.
