Fresh Water
Eco-friendly Gardening
I will plant native species, landscape with water-efficient plants, and use eco-friendly fertilizers.
Climate
Use Public Transit
If a necessary trip is longer than I can walk or bike, I will use public transit 40 mile(s) each day and avoid sending up to (___) lbs of CO2 into Earth's atmosphere, while being sure to follow CDC guidelines for prevention of disease infection or transfer.
Climate
Choose Renewable Energy or Purchase Renewable Energy Credits
I will sign up for my utility company's clean/renewable energy option. If my utility does not offer one, I will purchase Renewable Energy Credits to match my usage.
Fresh Water
Assess for Leaks
I will have a plumber come out to assess for leaks and help reduce inadvertent water waste.
Forests
Use a Reusable Mug
If possible, I will avoid sending 5 disposable cup(s) to the landfill each day by using a reusable mug.
Wildlife
Leave No Trace
I will respect and protect biotic communities by practicing the seven principles of Leave No Trace when doing nature activities alone or with family and friends.

REFLECTION QUESTIONClimateHow has your access to various kinds of transportation throughout your life influenced your current attitudes about transportation and your transportation behavior?
Ashley Douglass 4/14/2020 3:40 PMI grew up in a exurb without public transportation and there was no where I could get to without a car (nothing in walking distance). Getting a license and driving was exceptionally important for me for my independence. However, after college I moved to a city and found that public transportation was much less stress inducing and a more enjoyable way to get around. I lived car free for 7 years using zipcar and car2go when a car was a necessity. I purchased a car when I took a position that was not metro accessible but now that I am metro accessible again I use my car very rarely. -
