Not really.  Yes i have had one or two employees at the grocery store I frequent toss my stuff around.  Next time I will report them to the manager.  Funny thing is I bought my grocery bags from their store.  Most of them know me enough by now and I rarely even have to tell them, do not bag my milk and other large items.  Most of them like it cause they hold a lot instead of 20 bags i use like 3 or 4.  Sometimes i bag if they are busy and they appreciate that.  I don't let the others get to me.  They just have attitudes.  I avoid their lines when possible although one of them isn't there anymore.  If anyone were to keep bagging as you say after you told them more than once, I would take my stuff out and put in my own bags and yes report them.

What do you do if you find yourself in the situation of needing a bag for items but don't have a reusable one with you? Carry things out in your hands? In a cart? Accept a disposable one? If you find yourself in this position often, what system could you put in place to try to create a successful habit of not using plastic bags?

I always keep my cloth bags in my car and have been for years.  More recently I tell places like drug stores and such I don't need a bag before they start ringing me up.

Do you ever get dirty looks and rudeness? One store... "I don't need a bag" OK, no bag (as she proceeds to put things in a bag). "Umm... I said no bag, please" Yeah, yeah, no bag (continues bagging). She threw a fit over it. I've had similar reactions at times over the "no straw" issue too.
