Food Advocate For More Food Options
What efforts would help food insecure regions have access to local, seasonal foods?

Provide access to low income communities for locally sourced produce and food options. Incentivize the sales of whole fruits, vegetables, and grains over processed items and high sugar products. This would provide more funding and value to local farmers and increase nutrition and public health.

A sharing economy allows a community to benefit from local resources without the need for financial or monetary input.  This could include bartering which allows people to benefit from trades beyond the usual market and tax structures.

Build soil organic matter so that regional soils can absorb more water, leading to less flooding and agricultural runoff.

Why do people in richer countries eat more meat than people in other places? How does eating more meat affect our planet and other people?

The price of meat in global markets means that those who can afford meat have the option to consume more. Meat production requires more land and water, and contributes to greenhouse gas emissions at a higher rate compared to non meat items.
