REFLECTION QUESTIONForestsHow can spending more time outdoors enhance your sense of place?
Sofia Fick 4/03/2020 4:35 PMI take a lot of pride in my internal map, and it's always great to expand! I love taking my dog on new walking routes... he loves marking new territory! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFresh WaterHow can your region/household prepare for changing water situations in order to become more resilient?
Sofia Fick 4/03/2020 4:33 PMToday, I prepared my first ever load of dirty dishes by only scraping off the larger remnants before they go into the dishwasher! Not too shabby! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONForestsHow difficult or easy was it to change your diet?
Sofia Fick 4/03/2020 4:30 PMAs a first step, I discussed with my family about how we need to remove Skippy peanut butter from our household, and switch to JIF instead! JIF has no palm oil in most of their peanut butters. Since we can still eat peanut butter, I think this is a simple yet great start to an anti-palm-oil household! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Building ResilienceRachel Carson said that we need the beauty and mysteries of the natural world for our spiritual and emotional development. Does that ring true for you? What are the implications for a culture that spends most of its time indoors?
Sofia Fick 4/03/2020 4:24 PMI helped my family rake our front lawn for an hour, and I also walked the dog a few times. Good to get outside! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Building ResilienceHow does connecting with others help your own mental and emotional health? How can it help support others?
Sofia Fick 4/03/2020 4:23 PMI think connecting with others helps to keep everyone sane during this impossibly strange time. I used phone calls and FaceTime to connect with others and check in on their wellbeing both physically and mentally.
