REFLECTION QUESTIONPeopleWhat is your big takeaway from an event that you attended?
Jessie Frank 4/19/2020 11:00 AMMy big takeaway is that positive community engagement is still possible, even as we face difficult and uncertain times. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWildlifeEducator Stephanie Kaza advises her students to focus on what they care about most when addressing the enormity of ecological problems. Is there a specific area you feel particularly called to work on?
Jessie Frank 4/15/2020 2:47 PMI am particularly drawn towards the conservation of native species. These vital ecological systems, such as the midwestern prairies, are threatened primarily by agriculture practices. Education and awareness about environmental stewardship as well as gaining a history of the land is a good place to start. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWildlifeWhat interesting facts did you learn about the animal you researched? What are some of your favorite things about this animal?
Jessie Frank 4/12/2020 9:40 AMI learned about the American Bison. This native species faced severe population loss due to hunting, but was brought back with extensive conversation efforts. Their natural territory is the majority of the US, aside from the coastal areas. But now they can only be found in national parks and preserves.
