  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    People Spend Time Outside
Rachel Carson said that we need the beauty and mysteries of the natural world for our spiritual and emotional development. Does that ring true for you? What are the implications for a culture that spends most of its time indoors?

That statement is very true for me. I love being outside and experiencing nature's beauty. Cultures that stay inside a lot miss out on that beauty and it can effect their health and mental state.

How does connecting with others help your own mental and emotional health? How can it help support others?

Interacting with people helps me to not go out of my mind. I need to interact with people to help with my state of mind. I imagine just talking to people helps others the same it does me.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food Weekly Meal Planning
An average American throws out about 240 lbs of food per year. The average family of four spends $1,500 a year on food that they throw out. Does this surprise you? Where would you rather use this money?

That is a very surprising amount. I would rather put that money toward a car payment or a house payment.
