Say No to Plastic Straws

An estimated 71% of seabirds and 30% of turtles have been found with plastics in their stomachs. When marine wildlife ingest plastic, they have a 50% mortality rate. By asking for no straw when placing a drink order, I will keep 4 plastic straw(s) of out of the ocean each day.

What single-use items (e.g. straws, coffee cups, vegetable bags, plastic bags) do you regularly use? What could be substituted instead?

I use single-use coffee cups when I am grabbing something from starbucks or dunkin. I can substitute this by bringing my own tumbler.

Maybe you've heard how good it is to switch from a single use coffee cup to a reusable one, but it's just hard to make the switch. What stands in your way of making this a habit? By identifying the challenges, you can begin to work through them to have better success in taking this action. Knowing the difference you are making, how does it make you feel?

what stands in the way of making this a habit is convenience. It is hard to determine if  I am planning on getting coffee or a drink at some point while I'm out leaving the house in the morning

I did a sunset ride down the beach. I got exercise and got to enjoy my surroundings and get out of the house while maintaining social distancing

meat is seen as a luxury (like steak). eating more meat increases your carbon footprint
