Because everyone has a choice to litter or not. And we all have a choice to help clean it up whether we contribute or not.

I am grateful for the views. I just recently went to a forest preserve and it was so relaxing. I used to go all the time a few years ago but just stopped going. I missed it.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Climate Choose Renewable Energy or Purchase Renewable Energy Credits
Your utility company is able to tell you your average energy usage. Ask them how your energy usage compares to others in your ZIP code, region, and/or state. What other steps can you take each day to reduce your electricity usage?

My apartment complex uses solar panels for energy.

    People Spend Time Outside
Rachel Carson said that we need the beauty and mysteries of the natural world for our spiritual and emotional development. Does that ring true for you? What are the implications for a culture that spends most of its time indoors?

Stereotypically it means lazy and boring, no hobbies maybe, or depression. People spend time outside to feel alive. to feel the vitamin d from the sun and be able to enjoy beautiful days or sights. For example, going to the park and watching your children play while the birds are chirping and the environment has good vibes. Being outdoors i agree, boosts emotional development.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Wildlife Leave No Trace
Educator Stephanie Kaza advises her students to focus on what they care about most when addressing the enormity of ecological problems. Is there a specific area you feel particularly called to work on?

i feel like i should work on enforcement even though others may jot like it. A lot of my friends litter. I dont like it and i want to start speaking up for it. Also, ive done a little "community srrvice" of my own picling up some garbage. I felt i have grown in areas too, for example if im walking througha parking lot and i  see something on the ground, ill pick it up just to feel the good karma come back around and be thanked by nature.

Food Learn the Truth About Expiration Dates
How does knowing the difference between use by, sell by, and best by dates empower you to make better decisions?

It is easier to make decisions about what to buy for each trip to the store. Some things expire faster and others and buying bulk of food with close expiration dates will probably go bad before used by my household. Also, when im looking at the dates in the store it is easier to pick with one to grab. i usually try to grab from the back now and check the dates because to soonest expired are on the front of the shelves trying to be sold faster, but i know better.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Fresh Water Use a Reusable Water Bottle
Using the links provided, investigate the bottling practices of water corporations. There have been many cases where the water rights of the local people have been violated or even completely disregarded when a corporation decides to bottle water from a particular water source. How can you advocate for those who have been harmed - both humans and wildlife - by this bottling process?

    Kendall Grewer's avatar
    Kendall Grewer 4/13/2020 3:32 PM
By not using their bottling ways. this is why i decided to start using real waterbottles and investing in them from the store so i dont have to waste so much platic

How does connecting with others help your own mental and emotional health? How can it help support others?

Connecting with others can help one's mental and emotional health just by being a different focus and a few different feelings for example your mom told you a story that made you laugh.
