Today, we got an actual bin set up outside for the compost pile. We will be shoveling the current pile (on the ground) into the bin later today.  Hopefully this will help contain the sprawl!

    Food Compost Food Waste
New to composting? Be sure to check out the action resource links to learn tips and more about it. As you transition from throwing food away to composting, what do you notice about how much you are tossing? How will you use your compost once it is ready?

    Abi Hansen 4/23/2020 10:10 AM
I have noticed that composting diverts a lot of food waste out of the landfill. One thing we have a lot of in the compost pile is egg shells, since we are eating breakfast at home now.  Once it breaks down, I will use my compost in my veggie garden.

The days have been blurring together since we started staying home all the time. It makes it hard to remember to check in. But Earth Day is next week and I am determined to make time these next few days to accomplish some of the more time-consuming goals, like researching pollinator plants for my garden or watching a food sovereignty documentary.

Today I got my peas in the ground! Excited to have a strong start to the garden thanks to social distancing!
