I volunteered to help people clean up after the storms we have had. It helped people get out of their driveways, drive on the roads, and fix their yard back up.

I researched kangaroos. Some interesting facts about them are they travel in groups, they are the outbacks version of "camels" because they don't drink much water, there are 47 different species of kangaroos, and they can hop of to 40 miles per hour. One of my favorite things that about kangaroos is how their carry their babies, also known as "joeys".

Action Track: Building Resilience Spend Time Outside
Rachel Carson said that we need the beauty and mysteries of the natural world for our spiritual and emotional development. Does that ring true for you? What are the implications for a culture that spends most of its time indoors?

Nature can be so many different things to people so I think she's right. If we continue to stay inside all the time, we won't be able to see the toll we are putting on the environment.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Forests Explore My Area
How can spending more time outdoors enhance your sense of place?

We can see how truly beautiful nature is, how nature is why we are alive, and what pollution and littering can do to our environment.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

I've stopped using micro-bead face washes because the micro-beads are little pieces of plastic that are so "micro" they can slip through filtration systems and make it back into our waterways.
