REFLECTION QUESTIONFresh Water Dishwasher EfficiencyHow can your region/household prepare for changing water situations in order to become more resilient?
Alexander Juarez 4/14/2020 11:38 AMUse our own filters and drink more tap water than bottled water. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Building Resilience Spend Time OutsideRachel Carson said that we need the beauty and mysteries of the natural world for our spiritual and emotional development. Does that ring true for you? What are the implications for a culture that spends most of its time indoors?
Alexander Juarez 4/10/2020 3:41 PMYes, it is true. Being outside and seeing the nature around you is therapeutic. It helps calm you down and relax. Travelling to places like the Grand Canyon, Yellow Stone, etc open up your mind and amaze you because it's something we don't see often here in Illinois. It's a cool feeling experiencing it for the first time. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Reduce Animal ProductsWhy do people in richer countries eat more meat than people in other places? How does eating more meat affect our planet and other people?
Alexander Juarez 4/10/2020 3:29 PMRicher countries are able to afford more meat and also increase the demand of livestock compared to poorer countries. Health wise, it affects people badly. They gain weight and have increased risk of cardiovascular disease, high blood pressure, and heart attacks. It affects the world by using much more land to hold the high demand of livestock and with a larger amount of animals means there will be more methane from the waste.
