Laura Karlen 4/15/2020 10:02 AMI'm so excited about my romaine lettuce growing from the stub that was left after I cut off the leaves for a salad! -
Laura Karlen 4/08/2020 7:33 AMI made a climate change video with my daughter about the importance of plants to help combat the impacts of climate change. -
Laura Karlen 4/08/2020 7:32 AMI wrote a song called "Stronger together" about sticking together and supporting each other through challenging times. -
Laura Karlen 4/05/2020 8:39 AMI am composting fruit and vegetable waste in my backyard and all other food waste in the city compost. Yesterday I harvested compost with my kids to use in our small garden. I have worms so we spent an hour separating the worms from compost. We found many other critters. It was quite the messy educational experience for my kids. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Building Resilience Connect While Social DistancingHow does connecting with others help your own mental and emotional health? How can it help support others?
Laura Karlen 4/05/2020 8:32 AMI have been connecting with family and friends through email, phone and zoom calls. I have also been connecting with neighbors by initiating clapping at 7pm every night for the workers on the frontlines of the pandemic
