REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Earth Day Together! Earth Day Action: Research and Support Local OrganizationsWhy is it important to support local organizations and businesses? How does it help to build a more resilient community?
Isabel Kelley 4/22/2020 8:06 PMIt is important to support local organizations, so that they can stay relevant and open, even if you don't donate money, spreading word about them can also help. It allows for a more resilient community, because it spreads awareness, and builds a base of people knowing about the business so that the organization can bounce back from difficult conditions. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONForests Forest-Friendly FoodsHow difficult or easy was it to change your diet?
Isabel Kelley 4/16/2020 8:35 PMIt was kind of difficult to look for palm oil free symbol on products, but there is a lot of palm free options so not very hard -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFresh Water Use a Reusable Water BottleUsing the links provided, investigate the bottling practices of water corporations. There have been many cases where the water rights of the local people have been violated or even completely disregarded when a corporation decides to bottle water from a particular water source. How can you advocate for those who have been harmed - both humans and wildlife - by this bottling process?
Isabel Kelley 4/03/2020 1:50 PMI can advocate for people being affected by the practices of water bottling companies by not supporting these companies (not purchasing their products) and using a reusable water bottle. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Building Resilience Connect While Social DistancingHow does connecting with others help your own mental and emotional health? How can it help support others?
Isabel Kelley 4/02/2020 4:55 PMConnecting with others via FaceTime or phone call helps my mental and emotional health because it gives me a way to share my day, and how i'm feeling about social distancing. It also helps me because it is hard not seeing my friends and family like I normally would.
It can help support others because I can check in on them and make sure they're doing okay. I think it is also good for them to have an outlet to share things.

REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Reduce Animal ProductsWhy do people in richer countries eat more meat than people in other places? How does eating more meat affect our planet and other people?
Isabel Kelley 4/02/2020 4:40 PMPeople in more wealthy countries eat more meat because it tends to be more expensive than other foods. It could also have to do with being able to store and prepare meat. Eating meat can affect our planet because a lot of resources are used in feeding the animals. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFresh Water Dishwasher EfficiencyHow can your region/household prepare for changing water situations in order to become more resilient?
Isabel Kelley 4/01/2020 6:24 PMI think my household can prepare by using less water daily and being aware of the amount of water they use, and my region could have a supply of water if something happens to our water source.
