Compost Food Waste

I will avoid sending up to .69 lbs (.31 kg) of food waste to the landfill each day by composting my food or learning how to.

I've been composting food waste for several years since the city collects our food and yard waste. My goal is to always try to limit our household food waste by: not buying more food that we need; prioritizing what to cook/eat based on what would go bad the fastest; freezing vegetables from my CSA if I know I won't be able to use them quickly enough; and finding ways to use things that often go to waste, such as making carrot top pesto. It's not always easy, but it's worth the effort.
