Earth Day Action: Research and Support Local Organizations
I will spend 15 minutes researching local organizations and businesses in my community, then support one of them by writing a testimonial or positive review, ordering curbside, making a donation to my favorite nonprofit, or supporting them in another way.

REFLECTION QUESTIONPeople Earth Day Action: Research and Support Local OrganizationsWhy is it important to support local organizations and businesses? How does it help to build a more resilient community?
Kali Nagler 4/20/2020 7:18 AMIf we support local businesses - especially if their services and products are locally crafted, locally sourced or sustainable then we are reducing our impact on the planet and we are providing our neighbors with the means to meet their needs and the needs of their families, End products are not traversing the planet, we know where they came from and if their mission supports our neighbors in need we are making a difference in our own community. The result is really two-way. When we support local businesses and organizations, we reduce negative impacts on the environment and we can feel pride in giving to our neighbors. -
Kali Nagler 4/20/2020 6:53 AMI am late to the party. On April 7 I donated money to SAS - Code Blue program and encouraged others to do the same on Facebook. The volunteers who continue to put themselves at risk feeding and housing people in need is inspiring.
