Support Pollinators

At least 30% of crops and 90% of flowering plants rely on pollinators, including monarch butterflies, to produce fruit. I will spend 30 minutes researching which plants support local native pollinators and plant some in my yard.

Fresh Water

I will scrape, rather than rinse, dishes before loading into the dishwasher and only run the dishwasher when it’s full.

Pollination is one of the many ecosystem services provided by nature.  Without these ecosystem services, we would not be able to have the same standards of living as we currently do.  Pollinators provide an invaluable service for our agricultural industry, as well as providing food and habitat for a number of other living these.  It's important to provide food for our pollinators so we can help build a strong network to keep them fed, well, and active.

Water conservation is an important part of planning for the future.  We have low-flow shower heads, take shorter showers, and do not leave the water running.  We are on a community well, so hopefully our neighbors are also taking part in these water saving measures as well.

The hardest part for me is remembering to check in everyday!  I'm getting better, but I need to up my game.  Some of my teammates are really on top of this.  Way to go everyone!

Great job getting started everyone!  I'm really impressed at how you all have picked your challenges and even added mission statements and responded to reflection questions.  Keep it up!  Don't forget to check in each day if time allows to complete your daily challenges.  I'm really excited to see how much we can make a difference!
