Rita Poon 4/30/2020 9:31 AMLet's finish strong Team WSP! We got this!! -
Rita Poon 4/27/2020 2:26 PMTook a walk during lunch today and when I came back, my coworker sent me an IM that shelter-in-place has been extended until the end of May now...sigh. -
Rita Poon 4/24/2020 5:50 PMI had a chance to get outside today and enjoy an actual lunch break. It felt good to log off and walk away from my computer. It's been hard while working from home to remember to take that break. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONForests Use a Reusable MugMaybe you've heard how good it is to switch from a single use coffee cup to a reusable one, but it's just hard to make the switch. What stands in your way of making this a habit? By identifying the challenges, you can begin to work through them to have better success in taking this action. Knowing the difference you are making, how does it make you feel?
Rita Poon 4/24/2020 5:38 PMI love bringing my reusable cup with me when I pick up my coffee. My reusable cup keeps it hotter for a longer period of time too which is nice when I'm away from my desk. And who can object to the discount you receive from certain coffee shops! -
Rita Poon 4/23/2020 4:30 PMMy kiddo just finished her on-line schooling so we are going to bake after I sign off. Have some fresh lemons so we are going to try a new lemon cookie recipe. Glad we could both reduce our screen time and spend some time together! -
Rita Poon 4/22/2020 5:15 PMGlad I could take a much needed break from staring at the computer screen today. I took a 30 minute walk to the neighborhood playground, It was peaceful to feel the sun on my back; breath in the fresh air and clear my head. Hope you'll be able to enjoy some "me" time today! -
Rita Poon 4/22/2020 8:59 AMHappy Earth Day Team WSP! We are doing an awesome job!! :) -
Rita Poon 4/21/2020 4:22 PMI live in San Francisco and to celebrate Earth Day, I just signed up for the "Adopt A Drain" Program (through the SFPUC)! I adopted the storm drain on the corner of my block. I'll sweep it and keep it clean so that debris won't prevent the rain water from draining and flooding the area. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Building Resilience Connect While Social DistancingHow does connecting with others help your own mental and emotional health? How can it help support others?
Rita Poon 4/01/2020 5:41 PMDuring this time of shelter-in-place, it's even more important to connect with others to make sure people aren't feeling alone or depressed. I enjoy checking in on friends and family to make sure they are healthy and safe. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Building Resilience Spend Time OutsideRachel Carson said that we need the beauty and mysteries of the natural world for our spiritual and emotional development. Does that ring true for you? What are the implications for a culture that spends most of its time indoors?
Rita Poon 4/01/2020 5:37 PMI think everyone should spend more time outdoors and unplug from their devices.
