REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Building Resilience Support A Sharing EconomyWhat are the benefits of a sharing economy? How could a sharing economy change the dynamics you have with friends, family and/or neighbors?
Jacqueline Priola 4/22/2020 8:37 AMI think at this time especially its really important to support others and local business to bring our community together -
REFLECTION QUESTIONForests Forest-Friendly FoodsHow difficult or easy was it to change your diet?
Jacqueline Priola 4/20/2020 10:58 AMit's going to be difficult to change my diet and put it into application since so many foods hurt the rainforest and so many brands use palm oil and label it under different things. I think I just have to be way more aware of what I'm buying and eating and be more careful and doing research. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Building Resilience Spend Time OutsideRachel Carson said that we need the beauty and mysteries of the natural world for our spiritual and emotional development. Does that ring true for you? What are the implications for a culture that spends most of its time indoors?
Jacqueline Priola 4/16/2020 11:48 AMI think it is important to spend time outside especially when we cant go out and interact with other people in the world right now. I think being out in nature and spending time in your natural environment can help with may things especially your mental health. We spend lots of our time indoors and distracted and don't realize how beneficial just a little bit of time outside can be. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Weekly Meal PlanningAn average American throws out about 240 lbs of food per year. The average family of four spends $1,500 a year on food that they throw out. Does this surprise you? Where would you rather use this money?
Jacqueline Priola 4/16/2020 11:46 AMthis doesn't surprise me I think it is a common thing to waste food and not realize the harm you are doing or the amount you are wasting. The money that is wasted in wasting food can be used for so many better things and can be money that can be saved or used in an emergency. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Building Resilience Connect While Social DistancingHow does connecting with others help your own mental and emotional health? How can it help support others?
Jacqueline Priola 4/16/2020 11:44 AMconnecting with other people is really important. IT helps you keep in contact and not get stuck in a bad headspace where you feel secluded and alone. Though we can't see people in person its still good to keep your interaction with the people you'd normally see to support your own health and support others. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Reduce Animal ProductsWhy do people in richer countries eat more meat than people in other places? How does eating more meat affect our planet and other people?
Jacqueline Priola 4/16/2020 11:43 AMpeople in richer countries eat more meat because they have more of the ability and resources too. Richer countries also tend to waste a lot more food, especially in the meat industry. The meat industry is a big harm to our environment and people and its better for the planet to cut down on your own meat intake. -
Jacqueline Priola 4/16/2020 11:40 AMI already eat vegetarian and have been for the past year. I try my best to cut down on my dairy as well and most of my meals are vegan!
