Energy savings for the home office

Now that we're all working from home, energy bills could go up. Take some time to evaluate your home office space (even if it's the kitchen table!). Many utilities offer home efficiency kits (LED bulbs, shower heads, etc.) - visit your electric utilities website to see if they offer any of these solutions. The links below will also help you find energy efficiency opportunities in your own space.

UNCOMPLETED
ONE-TIME ACTION

Climate

My Carbon Footprint

Use an online tool (links below) to calculate my carbon footprint and see what changes would make the most difference. Each calculator varies, but you'll typically need to gather: utility records, the flight history for the last year, and annual mileage and fuel efficiency of your vehicles.

For the past couple weeks my wife, kids and I have been making meals and making cards to people on the front lines, elderly who are in nursing homes and people we know that cant get out. We are a small community and everyone needs to know we are in this together and together we will come out of it.

I have 5 children and I want to make sure as they get older the world we live in is taken care of. I am a firm believer that we were given this world and we need to be good stewards of it. I chose the actions I did so far because they mean something to me.

For my family we planted apple trees and a couple pine trees in out back yard. This has helped teach our children to help take care of our earth and about how we get our oxygen.
We all had a lot of joy planting the trees and are excited in the next couple years to get fruit.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Forests Use a Reusable Mug
Maybe you've heard how good it is to switch from a single use coffee cup to a reusable one, but it's just hard to make the switch. What stands in your way of making this a habit? By identifying the challenges, you can begin to work through them to have better success in taking this action. Knowing the difference you are making, how does it make you feel?
