We are resilient to shock events in that we are working together to prevent the spread of coronavirus. We can become more resilient by spreading awareness about how self-quarantine can help stop the virus so that more people will stay inside.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Wildlife Use Reusable Bags
What do you do if you find yourself in the situation of needing a bag for items but don't have a reusable one with you? Carry things out in your hands? In a cart? Accept a disposable one? If you find yourself in this position often, what system could you put in place to try to create a successful habit of not using plastic bags?

    Ariana Robbins's avatar
    Ariana Robbins 4/12/2020 6:04 PM
I carry the items in my hands. If it is too much to carry, I will use a cart.

By being more aware of the amount of unnecessary water we use and working to reduce it in any way possible.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Action Track: Building Resilience Spend Time Outside
Rachel Carson said that we need the beauty and mysteries of the natural world for our spiritual and emotional development. Does that ring true for you? What are the implications for a culture that spends most of its time indoors?

    Ariana Robbins's avatar
    Ariana Robbins 4/06/2020 8:33 AM
I agree with Rachel Carson. Because we spend most of our time inside, we do not appreciate the beauty of the world and do not realize how amazing it is that we live here.

Connecting with others really helps with mental and emotional health because talking to your friends makes this all seem more normal. It can help support others in the same way.
