Earth Day Action!: Research and Support Local Organizations
I will spend 10 minutes researching local organizations and businesses in my community, then support one of them by writing a testimonial or positive review, ordering curbside, making a donation to my favorite nonprofit, or supporting them in another way.

REFLECTION QUESTIONFresh Water Conserve Toilet WaterWhat would a sustainable water future in your region look like? What needs to change?
Aleigha Robinson 4/11/2020 5:49 PMIn the future we could turn off the sink when we aren't using it, take shorter showers, try to decrese your time using sprinklers and use energy efficient water saving devices -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWildlife Research a Wild AnimalWhat interesting facts did you learn about the animal you researched? What are some of your favorite things about this animal?
Aleigha Robinson 4/09/2020 6:43 AMI did some research on the orangutang species and I learned that their name means "man of the forest" and that there are different types of orangutang species. One of my favorite things about orangutangs are that they have a very unique look. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Building Resilience Research Benefits of BiodiversityHow can you encourage biodiversity by your own actions?
Aleigha Robinson 4/07/2020 6:32 PMYou can support biodiversity by supporting or protecting the animals around your neighborhood by providing shelter, food and water. Also you could help pick up litter around your neighborhood so that these animals don't eat it. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Learn the Truth About Expiration DatesHow does knowing the difference between use by, sell by, and best by dates empower you to make better decisions?
Aleigha Robinson 4/06/2020 5:44 AMIt empowers me to make better descisions because when I buy something I look at the labels on it like these lables and if it's reasonable I usually buy the item -
REFLECTION QUESTIONForests Forest-Friendly FoodsHow difficult or easy was it to change your diet?
Aleigha Robinson 4/03/2020 5:46 AMIt was actually really easy since I started it this morning because I usually drink coffee in the morning but I didn't today and I don't really use palm oil and cocoa in my foods, so that knocked those out of the way. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONOceans Learn about Our OceansWhat is one way in which oceans support your life on Earth? What is one way you can help take care of ocean health with your actions?
Aleigha Robinson 4/02/2020 6:35 AMUp to 70% of our oxygen is coming from the ocean also the ocean is the "#1 source of protien". One way we can help the oceans is to try lowering the amount of seafood we eat, clean up any trash that could possibly get into the ocean because if we don't try to make it better now then things will get worse in the future -
REFLECTION QUESTIONPeople Keep My Community CleanHow does the act of picking up litter connect you more to your community?
Aleigha Robinson 4/01/2020 1:57 PMIt connects me more to my community because today I picked up litter anywhere I saw it and it was in many different places and I felt like I was helping my community a lot because I was picking up litter in their yard.
