Oceans

Say No to Plastic Straws

An estimated 71% of seabirds and 30% of turtles have been found with plastics in their stomachs. When marine wildlife ingest plastic, they have a 50% mortality rate. By asking for no straw when placing a drink order, I will keep 3 plastic straw(s) of out of the ocean each day.

My choices help freshwater locally and globally because by using water friendly beauty products it helps keep the water clean for myself, others, environment and the animals who lives in that freshwater.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

I spent my time making mask for my local hospital during the Coronavirus and it really made me appreciate my community more. In a time where lots of people are so distant, me and other of my community came together to help with the relief effort to provide PPE for healthcare providers and people in the community.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    People Spend Time Outside
Rachel Carson said that we need the beauty and mysteries of the natural world for our spiritual and emotional development. Does that ring true for you? What are the implications for a culture that spends most of its time indoors?

I believe that is completely true. Nature is beautiful and we should go explore it more often. In our generation most people spend the time inside, we should work harder to spend more time in it and take care of it.
