People
Keep My Community Clean
I will pick up 30 piece(s) of litter each day while following the CDC’s current guidelines for prevention of disease transfer.
Action Track: Building Resilience
Volunteer in my Community
I will volunteer 2 hour(s) in my community helping people who are most at need right now, including elderly and immunocompromised people, people without childcare, and people whose jobs have been affected by social distancing measures.
Action Track: Building Resilience
Use Muscle Power
I will cut my car trip mileage by only taking necessary trips, and I will only use muscle-powered transportation for all other trips.
Action Track: Building Resilience
Spend Time Outside
I will replace 90 minute(s) each day typically spent inside (computer time, watching television, etc.) with quality time outside that follows CDC guidelines for preventing disease spread.
Fresh Water
Dishwasher Efficiency
I will scrape, rather than rinse, dishes before loading into the dishwasher and only run the dishwasher when it’s full.
Forests
Explore My Area
I will explore at least one new hiking trail or nature walk in my area while following CDC guidelines for social distancing.
Oceans
Advocate For More Packaging Options
Plastic packaging can clog our water ways and the stomachs of sea creatures. I will advocate for alternatives to single-use packaging at local grocery stores, markets, at work, or on campus.
Action Track: Building Resilience
Connect While Social Distancing
I will connect with at least 7 person/people a day through phone call or video chat to support mine and other’s mental and emotional health during this challenging time.
Participant Feed
Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.
To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?

REFLECTION QUESTIONPeople Keep My Community CleanHow does the act of picking up litter connect you more to your community?
Raishein Thomas 4/29/2020 11:32 PMWell it’s kinda weird but when I first started to pick up trash around my community I was helped but some younger kids and then it became know. Over the few weeks other member fo the community and I have talk and had conversations and it gave me opportunities to meet new people and talk to people in my community that I would normally not engage with. It also brought a since of home to my community and put more pride in to me about it. -
