Wildlife
Use Reusable Bags
Plastic bags can be mistaken for food by many wild animals. If at all possible, I will not accept any disposable bags when making purchases, including produce bags.
People
Connect While Social Distancing
I will connect with at least 2 person/people a day through phone call or video chat to support mine and other’s mental and emotional health during this challenging time.
Fresh Water
Use a Reusable Water Bottle
I will use a reusable bottle and stop purchasing bottled water, saving 5 disposable plastic bottle(s) a day.
Fresh Water
Dishwasher Efficiency
I will scrape, rather than rinse, dishes before loading into the dishwasher and only run the dishwasher when it’s full.
People
Spend Time Outside
I will replace 45 minute(s) each day typically spent inside (computer time, watching television, etc.) with quality time outside that follows CDC guidelines for preventing disease spread.

First Days of Spring
I will honor the first days of spring by documenting, either by video or writing about a change in the scenery outside my window. This could be birds nesting, flowers blooming, etc.
Forests
Forest-Friendly Foods
I will replace or remove the palm oil, coffee, and cocoa products in my current diet that are known to contribute to deforestation.
Forests
Secret Garden
Find an unexpected public place that you can plant flowers seeds in and water over a period of time. Possible locations could be a vacant lot, a median strip, a public park, windowsill, rooftop, balcony, street tree pit etc... D O C U M E N T A T I O N > Take a series of three photos showing: 1) The garden location before you planted the seeds 2) A photo of the flower plants while they are growing, and 3) A photo of the plants after they have bloomed.

REFLECTION QUESTIONForests Forest-Friendly FoodsHow difficult or easy was it to change your diet?
Ms. Raisa - Quiet Time 4/20/2020 6:18 AMThis challenge was actually easy because I don't eat or use the materials listed. What will be important for me is to make sure I don't use any in the future! -
Ms. Raisa - Quiet Time 4/15/2020 10:36 AMFor the signs of spring I'd like to share that outside my window I see more birds chirping and creating nests for their upcoming hatchlings. I also notice more squirrels out and about eating the fruits and flowers off the the blooming trees :) -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWildlife Use Reusable BagsWhat do you do if you find yourself in the situation of needing a bag for items but don't have a reusable one with you? Carry things out in your hands? In a cart? Accept a disposable one? If you find yourself in this position often, what system could you put in place to try to create a successful habit of not using plastic bags?
Ms. Raisa - Quiet Time 4/14/2020 10:59 AMWhen I don't have a reusable bag I will take a disposable one, but I always repurpose it as a garbage bag. Instead of buying bulk trash bags, I use these disposable ones instead. This way I don't contribute to the consumption of buying extra bags on top of having to use a disposable bag. -
Ms. Raisa - Quiet Time 4/14/2020 10:40 AMPut extra leftover scraps into the trash (very minimal since I don't compost) and used little water to rinse plate!
