    Dear Earth,
You are my home and my life.
You bring beauty but we don't always look your way.
We stay in our lane when you want us to veer different.
I see you and love you.
    I cherish and welcome you.
    You are me.
I couldn't be anything without you.
I am sorry for what we do to you.
I am sorry for the scars we put in you.
    I see you.
    I see your pain.
You are a loving mother when we are childish brats.
I love you more than I can imagine.
I hope you love me too.
    Yours.

By setting a good example. You can talk to people about recycling and reuse as well. Advocate for the greater good.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Action Track: Building Resilience Watch a Documentary about Food Sovereignty
How does food sovereignty address the complex agrarian transition to modern food systems?

    Anna-Olivia Ungert 4/16/2020 7:06 AM
I looked at a documentary about Haitians and their food sovereignty in rice. Others brought in cheaper rice that is sold more plentifully. This hurt the native farmers who are trying to support themselves and their families. By buying other non native rice, the country became poorer and poorer.

How can spending more time outdoors enhance your sense of place?

Plants and the outdoors actually release the happy hormone. If you are in a great wide space on top of our beautiful mountains feeling happy and in your own space, you can feel a sense of contentment and awe. We really are a small part of a big world.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Oceans Learn about Our Oceans

The flow of oceans in ocean currents, move around cold and warm water. This movement regulates global climate. It distributes the colder climates with the warmer ones.

It was pretty easy getting foods out of my diet. Nutella was a big no no, but I took it like a champ.

I planted many plants and had my mom talk about the affects of pollinators. Even though im allergic to them, they are essential to the environment.
