REFLECTION QUESTIONOceans Learn about Our OceansWhat is one way in which oceans support your life on Earth? What is one way you can help take care of ocean health with your actions?
Rashmi Vijendra Prasad 4/29/2020 4:12 PMI feel Plastic use and Oil spills are the biggest contributions to suffocating ocean health. Reducing both could have tremendous effects on improving life underwater. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONPeople Connect While Social DistancingHow does connecting with others help your own mental and emotional health? How can it help support others?
Rashmi Vijendra Prasad 4/29/2020 4:10 PMI feel relaxed when I have a casual talk with loved ones after a long day! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONPeople Spend Time OutsideRachel Carson said that we need the beauty and mysteries of the natural world for our spiritual and emotional development. Does that ring true for you? What are the implications for a culture that spends most of its time indoors?
-
REFLECTION QUESTIONOceans Join a Cleanup EffortHow does working with others to clean up your community make you feel?
Rashmi Vijendra Prasad 4/29/2020 3:58 PMFeels great! I was a part of the Buffalo Bayou Regatta this year and enjoyed the event. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFresh Water Water-Friendly Beauty ProductsBeyond what does or doesn't come out of the tap at home, how do your choices affect freshwater locally and globally?
Rashmi Vijendra Prasad 4/29/2020 3:57 PMI try to use more of organic produce which do not use chemical fertilizers for growth, thus reducing the pollution of soil and the water table underneath. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONForests Use a Reusable MugMaybe you've heard how good it is to switch from a single use coffee cup to a reusable one, but it's just hard to make the switch. What stands in your way of making this a habit? By identifying the challenges, you can begin to work through them to have better success in taking this action. Knowing the difference you are making, how does it make you feel?
Rashmi Vijendra Prasad 4/29/2020 3:54 PMI have always used a reusable cup/mug instead of single use coffee/tea cup whenever possible. It makes me feel more responsible and gives a sense of satisfaction for having contributed few lesser plastic cups into landfill! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Reduce Animal ProductsWhy do people in richer countries eat more meat than people in other places? How does eating more meat affect our planet and other people?
Rashmi Vijendra Prasad 4/29/2020 3:50 PMRicher countries eat more meat may be due to affordability and also availability. Shifting to more plant-based foods can help combating climate change, soil, air and water pollution, ocean dead zones etc. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONClimate Choose LED BulbsChanging lightbulbs is an excellent first step toward energy efficiency! In what other ways can you exercise your civic duty to protect the environment and reduce carbon emissions?
Rashmi Vijendra Prasad 4/29/2020 3:47 PMOnce can use public transport to workplace and carpool whenever possible. Also, get the vehicle's emission tests done regularly. Another major contribution could be switching of off the lights when not being used. -
