Sign a local petition for 100% renewable energy production
Sign the Petition: Tell PRPA to Bring More Clean Energy to Northern Colorado! Take Action: Platte River Power Authority (PRPA) says it is committed to 100% carbon-free energy by 2030, but it hasn't announced plans to quit coal and gas! WHY THIS MATTERS If PRPA transitions from coal plants to clean energy, its customers would save money and breathe easier. Studies have shown that clean energy, like wind, is cheaper than coal, which pollutes our air and water at alarming rates. If PRPA is truly invested in our future and wants to take bold action to reduce carbon emissions and protect our environment, then it must announce retirement dates for its coal plants and plan on bringing Fort Collins, Longmont, Loveland and Estes Park 100% clean energy! Tell the PRPA Board to take action now! https://addup.sierraclub.org/campaigns/sign-the-petition-tell-prpa-to-bring-more-clean-energy-to-northern-colorado

Plant a Garden
"If you have thought about growing a vegetable garden in the past but didn’t have time, while you are under orders to stay home and living on less income, take advantage of this opportunity to start a garden. It isn’t hard and can be very rewarding! Planting is a hopeful act and will give you a break from the news of the day. Get the whole family involved and dig in!" https://www.almanac.com/gar…/grow-victory-garden-coronavirus

Rachel Zelaya 4/07/2020 10:28 AMMy mom and I went to Flower Bin (wearing our masks) and purchased a bunch of cool weather starter plants - kale, peas, lettuce, spinach, broccoli, etc and will plant them this weekend. It will be so great to harvest our veggies instead of having to go to the grocery store! -

Rachel Zelaya 4/02/2020 4:14 PMI'm noticing how much compost my family of 4 is creating now that we are on lockdown. So glad it's not going into the trash! -
