    Rachel Carson said that we need the beauty and mysteries of the natural world for our spiritual and emotional development. Does that ring true for you? What are the implications for a culture that spends most of its time indoors?

    People who spend much of their time inside either working or watching tv become disconnected from the natural world. This causes a kind of apathy toward the importance the natural world has both on our physical well being and our spiritual well being. Also if people do not experience things, they become afraid of it. Oooh dirt, oooh bugs, oooh germs and the creatures in nature which are vitally important in the balance of our natural world become disposable. "Out of sight, out of mind" and we all suffer from that mentality.

    Connecting with others has improved my mood every time. We usually laugh about something.  I think the time spent connecting with another person benefits them in the same way.

    I feel that this challenge has made me more connected to my friends. By contacting them more often, I use to never call now I'm starting to call much more often.
