    Some things I can do in order to encourage biodiversity are avoiding products that would result in deforestation, as well as reducing my carbon emissions.

    I need to touch, smell, hear nature on a regular basis. It makes me whole and I feel connected to the world. From my own observations as a high school science teacher in an urban environment, I see so many you people not connected to the outside.     The ocean provides us with the largest area of Net Primary Productivity. Some ways I can help take care of the oceans is to reduce my carbon dioxide output, eat sustainable fish, and create less plastic pollution.

    I think the most important thing our state could do for water sustainability would be to transition to naturalized yards and growing crops that require less water and fertilizers. That way we can preserve our groundwater reserves.

    I miss my students and colleagues so reaching out to them on a regular basis will help us stay connected. I've also enjoyed this opportunity to reconnect with old friends. Being a social person, its comforting to be able to see them and share.

    By spending time outdoors you increase you connection to nature. If you feel connected then you are more inclined to take care of it!

    Connecting with others is really important for your own mental health. Friends support you and can lift your mood, and so especially now when we can't see them face-to-face, it's important to reach out and connect with them in other ways.

    Pollinators provide us with a lot of the food that we eat, and so without them, we'd be lacking in a lot of foods that we often take for granted.

    Most recently, I've been trying to bike a lot more places. There's really no need for me to drive somewhere that's a 5-10 min bike ride from my house.
