REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Reduce Animal ProductsWhy do people in richer countries eat more meat than people in other places? How does eating more meat affect our planet and other people?
Hanae D. 4/27/2020 2:39 PMI actually dont know the answers to these questions, as I feel I should write more about the experience rather than the research that I did not do. I started on the 21st of April, and now since then I havent eaten any meat. We dont usually eat much meat, we still do, but not tons, so it wasnt insanely hard to do this. The toughest part was probably eating the veggie-burger while gazing at the hamburger. I do cut myself some slack though, because the meat we do buy is mostly from local farms (we go to the farms themselves). -
REFLECTION QUESTIONOceans Smart Seafood ChoicesMany states and countries have advisories on eating fish. Find out what is advised for your region. Do you think your diet choices fall within these guidelines? What steps do you need to take to make sure that they do?
Hanae D. 4/21/2020 11:42 AMIm not a big fish eater, but the fish I do usually eat are salmon and shrimp. The salmon in the green zone has to be farmed/caught in New Zealand, which would take a lot of transportation to get to the US. The shrimp in the green zone has to be from the US. This goes with eating local to avoid lots of carbon emissions being released during the transportation.
