I always pick up litter whenever I see it just so it doesn't end up in our surface waters. I also limit my water use when showering, flushing, or even washing my face.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    People Spend Time Outside
Rachel Carson said that we need the beauty and mysteries of the natural world for our spiritual and emotional development. Does that ring true for you? What are the implications for a culture that spends most of its time indoors?

I think it is very important to spend time outside because that is Earth in its natural environment, not indoors. We have to connect ourselves with the land and plants. If we spend most of our time inside then I believe we become disconnected.

Sometimes checking in on others really has an impact on them because they now know someone is out there thinking about them. Not only does it help them but it also helps me as well because having someone to talk to that is outside of your immediate family is really refreshing and helps you look forward to seeing them again.
